Last night the Broward County Commission enacted a new ordinance that changes the way associations in Broward County must handle applications for rental or purchase in a condominium, co-op or homeowner’s association. The ordinance not only requires associations to provide in writing the reason for rejection of any renter or purchaser, it also requires written acknowledgement of receipt for each application. This acknowledgement must be sent within 10 day of receipt of any application and applications must be approved or rejected within 45 days of receipt.
