As managers, it’s our job to implement the decisions and policies of the board of directors. It’s also our job to communicate these decisions on behalf of the board to owners. While we are happy to answer general questions about these decisions, we are forbidden from discussing the legal aspects that allow the board to make such decisions. All too often, owners write or call us asking us to provide the Florida Code Section that allows the board to take the action they are taking. They want us to explain the law and how it applies. Florida law does not permit managers to interpret or provide guidance as to specific code sections or legal matters. While we would help if we could, this is not part of our job. So please understand that we cannot answer legal questions as to the authority of the board to take action, make a repair or make decisions.
